A BATHING APE® × Marilyn Monroe

「A BATHING APE®」は、初となるマリリン・モンローとのコラボレーションコレクションを発表、2020年8月29日(土)より、全国のBAPE STORE®で発売します。 1926年6月1日、アメリカ合衆国 カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルに生まれた女優兼モデル、「マリリン・モンロー（Marilyn Monroe）」。1955年に公開された映画『The Seven Year Itch』、1959年公開の『Some Like It Hot』などに出演し、ハリウッドを代表する女優として不動の人気を博した。セックスシンボルと言われるその美しさと、子供のようなあどけなさで20世紀を代表するスターとなりました。現在でも過去最高に写真を撮られた女性と言われ、彼女の魅力は半世紀以上が経った今でも色あせることがありません。 本コレクションでは、Authentic Brands Group（オーセンティック ブランズ グループ）が独占的なライセンス権を所有する膨大な写真コレクションの中から、マリリン・モンローの華やかで美しい魅力ある写真を厳選し、BAPE®のブランディングとコラボレーションしたTシャツがラインアップ。

BAPE®の世界観によって、マリリン・モンローがアートとしてよみがえります。 6型あるTシャツコレクションは、マリリン・モンローのイメージとBAPE®のシグネチャーグラフィックがデザインされ、両者の魅力を余すことなく表現し、BAPE®らしいグラフィックを落とし込んだコレクションとなっています。 モンローの究極の白黒写真が、BAPE®のカモフラージュのバックドロップで表現。APE HEADグラフィックが、サム・ショーが撮影した有名な白いドレスのコラージュによって構成され、 ミルトン・グリーン撮影のアイコニックなポートレート写真がBAPE®のピンクカモフラージュで飾られました。

本コレクションは、2020年8月29日(土)より、A BATHING APE®正規取扱店舗およびBAPE.COM WEB STORE、ZOZO TOWNにて発売。

A BATHING APE®’s first ever collaboration with Marilyn Monroe will be available at Japanese BAPE STORE® locations from Saturday, August 29th, 2020. Marilyn Monroe, born on June 1st, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, United States, is Hollywood's most popular actress and model, with leading roles in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch and 1959’s Some Like It Hot. Known as a sex symbol, her unique blend of beauty and innocence captivated audiences around the world. She is considered the most photographed woman of the 20th century time and her influence has not faded, more than half a century later. Marilyn Monroe's glamorous and beautiful photographs have been carefully selected from the Authentic Brands Group’s, owner of the Marilyn Monroe Estate, vast catalog of exclusive images to create a collection of t-shirts in collaboration with A BATHING APE®.

The world of BAPE® pays homage to Marilyn Monroe in its unique art form. The collection features six t-shirt styles, each incorporating a Marilyn Monroe image with BAPE®’s signature graphics and designed to embody the beauty of both worlds. Some include: An intimate black-and-white photo of Monroe enhanced by the BAPE® camouflage backdrop, an APE HEAD graphic constructed from a collage of the famous White Dress images by Sam Shaw and an iconic portrait photographed by Milton Green, adorned with BAPE®’s pink camouflage.

Collaboration items will be available on Saturday, August 29th at A BATHING APE® locations, BAPE.COM WEB STORE and ZOZO TOWN.
